Prerequisites: Mathematics 130 or 131.
Text: CALCULUS Early Transcendentals, fourth
edition by James Stewart
We will cover chapters 12, 13, 14, 15 and parts of chapter 16.

Homework: Homework problems are to be assigned
once a week. They are due on Monday of the following week. Solutions
to the problems will be provided. No late homework will be
accepted. Quizzes will be based on the homework.
You should
expect to spend at least 4 hours a week on the homework.

Quizzes: There will be 10 or 11 quizzes, one every
Wednesday (except for weeks that have a midterm). The lowest score
will be dropped. No make-up quizzes will be given under any
circumstances.

Exams: There will be three midterms and a
final. All exams will be closed book. The midterms will take place on
September 17, October 12 and November 9 (the dates are
subject to change). The final, according to the non-combined final
examination schedule is to take place on
December 15, 1:30 pm .

Grade: The formula for the course grade is roughly
as follows:

final exam = 26 %
-
3 midterms at 20 % each = 60%
-
quizzes = 10%
-
homework, class participation etc = 4%
