Prerequisites: Math 247 or 248 or equivalent.
Texts: Introduction to Real Analysis (third edition)
by R.G. Bartle and D.R. Sherbert
We will study Chapters 1--8.

Homework: Homework problems are to be assigned
once a week. They are due on Wednesday of the following week. No
late homework will be accepted.

Exams: There will be quizzes, two midterms and a
final. You have to pass the final to pass the course. Quizzes
cannot be made up but you can drop one quiz grade. All exams
are closed book. The midterms will take place on October
3 and November 12 (the dates are subject to
change). The final, according to the non-combined final examination
schedule is to take place on December 15, 8 am in
the regular classroom.

Grade: The formula for the course grade is roughly
as follows:

final exam = 35 %
-
2 midterms at 20 % each = 40%

homework, quizzes, class participation etc = 25%
